Two-factor authentication (2FA) is the single most effective step you can take to secure your Exchanger account. We strongly recommend enabling it immediately after registration.
To set up 2FA: go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication and click "Enable 2FA".
You will see a QR code on screen. Open an authenticator app on your phone — Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password all work. Tap the "+" or "Add account" button and scan the QR code.
The app will start generating 6-digit codes that rotate every 30 seconds. Enter the current code in the confirmation field on Exchanger to complete setup.
Important: immediately after enabling 2FA, you will be shown 10 backup recovery codes. Save these in a secure location (printed on paper or in a password manager). If you lose your phone and do not have these codes, account recovery will require identity verification and takes up to 5 business days.
2FA is required for all withdrawals. Even if someone steals your password, they cannot move your funds without also having your phone.
